Vogadori produces two Amarone styles: the traditional Amarone which must be dry, tannic, with an excellent structure in order to be matched with excellent meat or hard cheeses. In the best years, they produce the Forlago from the best grapes on their land!

The Forlago Amarone is a meditation.

Vinification

Grapes dry naturally for more than 5 months in a dying facility, after which the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel takes with natural yeasts. The fermentation requires more than 55 days and 3 times each day they gently break up the themarc with air to extract as much as possible from the skins.

Aging

Aged for 36 months in French oak barrels in a mix of new, first, and second use barrels to have a different aging characteristic. Then in the bottle for an additional 18 months

Intense ruby red

Notes

Warm and spicy bouquet, with aromas of raisins, this is because the grapes have been dried before fermenting. You can also smell vanilla, chocolate, and cherry 

Taste

Very well-structured, complex elegant, and really persistent

Food Pairing

It can be paired with really strong meat or cheeses, with good gorgonzola or at the end of a meal with dark chocolate, or a cigar like liquor
